This disc cutter set allows you to produce clean, consistent cloud-shaped blanks from non-ferrous sheet metal. The set includes a solid, hardened steel die block and four matching punches, precision-machined from tempered carbon tool steel. The four punch sizes are 11.18 x 10.13 mm, 14.12 x 12.08 mm, 16.92 x 15.33 mm, and 19.89 x 18.03 mm, offering a useful range for jewellery components.

To operate, place your sheet metal into the die slot, insert the desired punch, and strike its beveled end firmly with a brass or nylon mallet. For optimal performance and to prolong the life of the cutting edges, we recommend using a suitable cutting fluid and annealing your metal before punching.

This tool is ideal for creating unique pendants, earrings, or decorative elements for larger metalwork projects.

  • Machined from hardened and tempered high-carbon tool steel for clean, repeatable cuts.
  • Cuts non-ferrous sheet metal such as silver and copper up to 18 gauge (1.02 mm).
  • Includes four cloud-shaped punches in graduated sizes from 10.13 mm to 19.89 mm.
  • The solid steel die block measures approximately 64 x 89 mm (2.5 x 3.5 inches).
  • Punches feature a sharp cutting face and a beveled end for striking with a mallet.

Is this the right tool for you?

Best for

  • UK jewellers creating collections with a consistent cloud or organic motif.
  • Silversmiths needing to produce small batches of identical shaped blanks quickly.
  • Model makers and crafters working with soft non-ferrous metal sheet.
  • Educational workshops teaching basic metal blanking and forming techniques.

Not for

  • Cutting ferrous metals like steel, except for very thin tinplate.
  • Punching metal thicker than 18 gauge (1.02 mm) as this may damage the cutting edges.
  • Use with a steel hammer, which can mushroom the punch heads; use a brass or nylon mallet.
  • Producing shapes other than the four specific cloud sizes included.
