For sizing there is a metal A-Z ring gauge set, a 27-piece bangle sizer set, a ring sizing machine for stretching and reducing rings, and solid steel wax reamers in four sizes. How to choose

Pick steel for hammer forming and heavy bench use. Aluminium and wood are lighter and gentler on finished or plated rings, but they dent under heavy hammering. For bangles, match the mandrel profile to the shape you want. For forming, a tapered mandrel gives a smoother round than a stepped one; for quick sizing, stepped is faster.

Frequently asked questions

Steel or aluminium ring mandrel?
Steel for hammer forming and heavy bench use. Aluminium for quick sizing checks and plated rings where you don't want steel marks.

Do the mandrels show UK or US ring sizes?
It depends on the mandrel. The solid steel round mandrel is engraved with US sizes 1 to 16, and the grooved wooden ring stick is marked with US sizes 1 to 15. For UK letter sizes, use the A-Z ring gauge set. Check each product page for its scale.

What's the difference between stepped and tapered?
Stepped mandrels have distinct size steps for clean size-to-size work. Tapered mandrels are a smooth cone, better for forming and fine adjustment between sizes.

Do you dispatch the same day?
We aim to. Orders placed before 2pm UK time, Monday to Friday, are targeted for same-day dispatch; later orders are dispatched from the next working day. It is a target, not a guarantee. Most UK orders arrive 2-3 working days after dispatch.

What's your return policy?
Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. You pay return postage unless the item arrived faulty, damaged or wrong. Refunds go to your original payment method within 5 working days of us receiving the return.
