The Toolsmith soldering tools range covers everything on a bench jeweller's soldering station except the torch itself - third hands, reverse-action tweezers, charcoal and ceramic soldering boards, heat-proof bricks, honeycomb boards, solder picks, tripods, annealing pans, pickle pots and copper tongs.

Every item ships from the UK with same-day dispatch on orders placed before 2pm. Whether you're setting up a first solder station or replacing worn kit in a busy repair workshop, the range is specified for repeatable bench use at working-studio standard.

Who buys from this range

Bench jewellers, silversmiths, jewellery repair studios, jewellery students setting up a first solder station, and teaching workshops re-kitting benches for new intakes.

Tools by job

  • Third hands & reverse-action tweezers: hold work steady over the flame without a grip
  • Soldering boards & bricks: charcoal, ceramic, honeycomb - reflect and absorb heat for even solder flow
  • Solder picks & probes: titanium or stainless - move solder chips into place mid-flame
  • Pickle pots & copper tongs: for cleaning firescale after soldering
  • Tripods, annealing pans & mesh: raise work off the bench for heat circulation

How to choose

For fine work (chains, bezels, earring posts) a charcoal block reflects heat back into the piece and speeds solder flow. For larger silver work, a honeycomb board lets air circulate so you can heat evenly. Titanium solder picks don't pick up solder like steel does - a small investment, significant workflow upgrade. For pickle, a dedicated crock pot with a ceramic insert outlasts any hardware-store alternative.

Frequently asked questions

Charcoal vs honeycomb soldering board?
Charcoal reflects heat and is ideal for small, fine work. Honeycomb ceramic lets air circulate and is better for larger silver pieces.

Do I need a titanium solder pick?
Worth it - titanium won't pick up the solder like steel picks do, which means cleaner joins and fewer reheats.

What pickle solution do you stock?
Check product pages - we stock safety pickle granules compatible with standard ceramic pickle pots. Never use steel tools in pickle; copper tongs only.

Do you dispatch the same day?
Yes - orders placed before 2pm UK weekdays ship same-day.

Do you sell torches?
Torches are not currently stocked - we supply everything around the torch (boards, tweezers, picks, pickle kit). Trade enquiries welcome.
