How to choose

Emasculator choice depends on the animal's age and your welfare protocol. Aluminium bull nose rings are light and often used for younger stock; brass and stainless steel rings are used for permanent fitting. Always follow current UK veterinary and animal welfare guidance before any procedure.

Frequently asked questions

How should these instruments be cleaned?
Clean and disinfect them after every use. Some are listed as autoclavable; check the product page before autoclaving, and follow your practice's own sterilisation protocol.

Aluminium, brass or stainless steel bull nose ring?
Aluminium rings are light and often used for younger stock. Brass and stainless steel rings are used for permanent fitting in mature bulls.

Are the emasculators UK-welfare compliant?
The instruments are standard designs. Whether a procedure is lawful and humane depends on the animal, its age, pain relief and current RCVS and APHA guidance, so always check before use.

Do you supply veterinary colleges and mobile practices?
Yes. Email info@toolsmithltd.co.uk for trade and education pricing.

Do you dispatch the same day?
We aim to. Orders placed before 2pm UK time, Monday to Friday, are targeted for same-day dispatch; later orders are dispatched from the next working day. It is a target, not a guarantee. Most UK orders arrive 2-3 working days after dispatch.

What's your return policy?
Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Sealed sterile instrument sets cannot be returned once the seal has been broken after delivery, for hygiene reasons. You pay return postage unless the item arrived faulty, damaged or wrong. Refunds go to your original payment method within 5 working days of us receiving the return.
