This disc cutter set produces clean, repeatable spinning-top shapes from non-ferrous metal sheet. The set includes a solid steel die block and four matching punches, all machined from hardened and tempered tool steel to maintain a sharp cutting edge.

To operate, slide your metal sheet (up to 18 gauge / 1.02 mm) into the die block, position the corresponding punch into the aperture, and strike it firmly with a brass or nylon mallet. Using a suitable cutting lubricant will ensure a cleaner cut, reduce burrs, and prolong the life of the punches.

This tool is used by jewellers and metal crafters to create components for pendants, unique earring drops, and other decorative elements from silver, gold, copper, and brass sheet.

  • Cuts four distinct spinning-top shapes from non-ferrous sheet metal up to 18 gauge (1.02 mm).
  • Block and punches are machined from hardened and tempered high-carbon tool steel for durability.
  • Includes four punch sizes: 10.27x15.97, 12.84x19.14, 15.4x22.29, and 16.9x24.92 mm.
  • The solid steel die block measures approximately 64 x 89 mm (2.5 x 3.5 inches).
  • Each punch is approximately 38 mm long with a sharp cutting edge and a beveled striking end.

Is this the right tool for you?

Best for

  • UK bench jewellers producing consistent shaped blanks for earrings or pendants
  • Silversmiths needing to cut custom shapes from silver or copper sheet up to 1.02 mm
  • Crafters and makers working with non-ferrous metals for decorative metalwork

Not for

  • Cutting hardened steel or sheet thicker than 18 gauge (1.02 mm)
  • Use with a steel hammer, which can damage the punches; use a brass or nylon mallet
  • Creating perfectly circular discs; this tool cuts a specific 'spinning top' shape
