Damascus Steel Straight Razor with 70 mm Blade and Rosewood Handle

A traditional straight razor featuring a blade forged from 264 layers of 1095 and 15N20 steel. The distinctive 'Swirl' Damascus pattern is unique to each blade, created during the forging process. The blade measures 70 mm in length with a substantial 4.5 mm thickness.

The handle is shaped from Rosewood for a secure and comfortable grip, contributing to an overall open length of 248 mm (9.75 inches). This provides the balance and control necessary for precise work. Please note: the blade is supplied unhoned and will require preparation with a strop before its first use.

Primarily designed for traditional wet shaving, the sharp, controllable edge is also suitable for other precision cutting tasks, such as skiving thin leather in bookbinding or trimming veneers in marquetry.

Care. Wipe dry after every use and apply a thin film of mineral or camellia oil to prevent rust — high-carbon and Damascus steels will spot or patina if left damp.
