A leather cushion that holds the work still. Filled with sand it gives a firm, dead surface for stamping and chasing, absorbs the blow, and keeps the noise down on a shared bench.
- 12 Inch Round, about 30 cm across
- Fine leather, black, triple-stitched seams
- Supplied unfilled: fill with dry sand or lead shot through the flap
- Takes about 2 kg of sand when full
- Approx. 50 g empty
Built for: letter and design stamping on blanks, chasing and repoussé, engraving small pieces, and steadying a dapping block or bench anvil. The largest round, for chasing plates and larger repoussé work. The other sizes and the steel bench blocks are listed separately.
