A compact and versatile bench block, providing a solid foundation for precision metalwork. The 76mm square surface consists of a 6.35mm thick, case-hardened steel plate, ground flat and polished for a smooth, resilient anvil surface.

This steel block is securely mounted to a 19mm thick hardwood base. The wood serves two purposes: it dampens vibration and absorbs the shock from hammer blows, reducing hand fatigue. For tasks requiring a more forgiving surface, the block can be inverted to use the hardwood side directly.

Ideal for jewellers, model makers, and repair technicians for tasks such as flattening wire, riveting components, or light forming of non-ferrous metals.

  • Overall dimensions: 76mm x 76mm (3 x 3 inches).
  • Case-hardened steel block, 6.35mm (1/4 inch) thick, ground flat and smooth.
  • Mounted on a 19mm (3/4 inch) hardwood base to absorb shock and reduce vibration.
  • Reversible design allows use of the hardwood base as a softer work surface.
  • Provides a solid, stable surface for riveting, forming, and flattening metal.

Is this the right tool for you?

Best for

  • UK jewellers needing a compact anvil for flattening silver or copper wire.
  • Model engineers riveting small brass or aluminium components.
  • Repair technicians requiring a stable surface for adjusting small parts.
  • Hobbyists forming metal sheet for custom jewellery or miniatures.

Not for

  • Heavy forging or blacksmithing – this is a precision bench tool.
  • Working with hardened steel tools, which may mark the block's surface.
  • Use as a cutting surface, as this will damage the polished face.
