The Toolsmith punches and stamps range - letter and number stamp sets in 2mm, 3mm, 4mm and 6mm faces, design punches for flowers, stars, arrows and bezels, centre and dot punches, hallmarking-style stamps and the bench blocks to strike them on.

All hardened tool steel, UK stocked, same-day dispatch before 2pm. Whether you're personalising stamped cuffs, adding maker's marks or teaching stamping to a class, the range is specified to leave a clean impression strike after strike.

Who buys from this range

Hand-stamped jewellery makers, silversmiths, jewellery repair workshops applying maker's marks, jewellery schools running stamping modules, and hobbyists making personalised gift pieces.

Punches by job

  • Letter & number sets: 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, 6mm faces in serif and sans-serif
  • Design punches: floral, star, arrow, heart, pattern repeats
  • Centre punches & dot punches: for drill-start marks and decorative dotting
  • Hallmark-style stamps: for maker's marks (note - official UK hallmarks are applied only by assay offices)
  • Bench blocks: hardened, flat and true - the surface that every punch strike lands on

How to choose

Pick a stamp face size relative to the piece you're stamping: 2mm-3mm for rings and fine jewellery, 4mm-6mm for cuffs and pendants. Always stamp on a hardened steel block - a soft surface absorbs the strike and leaves faint, inconsistent marks. For alignment, a stamp guide or magnetic bar pays for itself on the first long stamped sentence.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use these for official UK hallmarks?
No - UK hallmarks are applied only by an assay office (London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Edinburgh). These stamps are for maker's marks and decorative lettering.

What stamp size should I start with?
3mm is the most versatile for rings, pendants and charms. 6mm for cuffs and bigger statement pieces. 2mm for signet ring initials.

Serif or sans-serif letter stamps?
Personal preference - serif reads more traditional and shows better on irregular surfaces. Sans-serif is cleaner on polished flat metal.

Do you dispatch the same day?
Yes - orders placed before 2pm UK weekdays ship same-day.

Do you offer trade or school pricing?
Yes - email info@toolsmithltd.co.uk for trade and education pricing.
