Choosing a wax carving set

A 10-piece double-ended set covers most lab work: each instrument gives two profiles, so you get 20 working shapes. 16-piece sets add more profiles for margins and occlusal anatomy. If you're a student starting out, the 4-piece PVC-handled set is the entry point.

Frequently asked questions

Are these instruments autoclavable?
Most of the stainless steel instruments in this range are listed as autoclavable. Check the product page for each item before sterilising it.

Do you supply dental colleges and training programmes?
Yes. Email info@toolsmithltd.co.uk for trade and institutional pricing on bulk orders.

Can you get an instrument you don't list?
If there's an instrument you need that isn't listed, email info@toolsmithltd.co.uk and we'll see whether we can source it.

Do you dispatch the same day?
We aim to. Orders placed before 2pm UK time, Monday to Friday, are targeted for same-day dispatch; later orders are dispatched from the next working day. It is a target, not a guarantee. Most UK orders arrive 2-3 working days after dispatch.

What's your return policy?
Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Sealed sterile instrument sets cannot be returned once the seal has been broken after delivery, for hygiene reasons. You pay return postage unless the item arrived faulty, damaged or wrong. Refunds go to your original payment method within 5 working days of us receiving the return.
